The Painting is about the moral search of relevant values from our traditional past.
Female Genital Mutilation is a practice that is outdated and full of false belief in containing sex within
most African marriage set ups.
The women in the picture are not complaining, yet they are unhappy with the twisted burden of
bearing some societal norms that don't add value to their lives.
Their faces are mask-like because they are not expected to have feelings or express opinion in
such issues due to Gender inequality.
