Product Description
A beautiful high quality Zimbabwe sadza batik.
100% barkweave and cotton fabric.
Hand made in Zimababe. One batik takes nearly one week to complete.
Stunning as a wall hanging, framed or unframed. Fabulous as a table runner.
Process:
The Fabric is dyed in tea. After drying, a sadza porridge paste is used to apply the designs.This then dries naturally in the sun, resulting in the designs 'cracking'.After this step, they apply the paint and then the fabric is then baked at a high temperature.This fixes the colours,making all the batiks durable and also machine washable.They then scrape away the porridge and dry the fabric once again.
Lastly,all the batiks are inspected before sale, to ensure they meet the required standard.
